Privacy policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This policy explains what data Hito (the app and its associated website, hereafter «Hito», «we») collects, what we use it for, and what rights you have over it. It applies to both the mobile app and this website.

1. Who is responsible for processing your data

Carlos Megías Luzón (Spanish tax ID / NIF 77962921M), as the individual responsible for Hito. You can contact us at hitoapp.contacto@gmail.com for any question about your data.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: if you sign up in the app, your name and email address through Apple or Google when you choose "Continue with Apple"/"Continue with Google" — we never see or store your password for those accounts. If you sign up on the website, email address and password (stored encrypted, never in plain text).
  • Financial data you enter yourself: your movements (amount, category, date, note), your declared income, your savings goal and, if you set one, a cushion within that goal. This is the data Hito uses to calculate your date.
  • Subscription data: your premium status (active/expired) and its renewal date, managed through Apple and RevenueCat. Hito never sees or stores your card details.
  • Minimal technical data: what's needed to keep you signed in and for the app's basic operation.

3. What we use it for

  • Calculating your goal date and showing your progress (fulfilling the service you ask us for).
  • When that feature is available, generating the 'where to cut back' analysis: a premium feature that uses artificial intelligence to write a diagnosis based on figures we've already calculated ourselves (the AI doesn't decide amounts or dates, it only writes the text).
  • In the app, offering Explore your path: a premium feature that simulates what savings pace you would need to reach your goal by a different date. This is an internal Hito calculation, with no artificial intelligence involved.
  • Managing your subscription, if you take one out.
  • Replying if you write to us.

The legal basis is the performance of the contract for using the app (your financial and account data) and, for the AI analysis, your consent when you activate it inside the app itself.

4. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data to anyone. We only share it with the providers we need to deliver the service:

  • Anthropic (provider of the AI model that writes the 'where to cut back' analysis, when that feature is available): receives only the figures Hito has already aggregated (totals by category, savings capacity, goal date) to write the analysis text — never your email or password.
  • Apple and Google (sign-in): if you sign up or sign in with "Continue with Apple"/"Continue with Google", we verify your identity with them to create or recognize your account — they receive what they already handle as sign-in providers, never your activity inside Hito.
  • RevenueCat and Apple (billing): manage your premium subscription and the charge through your Apple account.
  • Railway: hosts our server and our database.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). When this happens, it is done under the legally required safeguards (standard contractual clauses or another equivalent mechanism).

5. How long we keep your data

As long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we erase your personal and financial data from our systems, unless the law requires us to keep some data (for example, for tax reasons on a subscription already charged).

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, request deletion of, object to the processing of, request the portability of, or limit the use of your data by writing to hitoapp.contacto@gmail.com. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) if you believe we haven't handled your data correctly.

7. Minors

Hito is not directed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make a significant change to this policy, we'll notify you inside the app before the change takes effect. The date above always reflects the latest revision.
